Sci-Fi This Week: The Walking Dead Returns Home, Michael Ironside Guests On The Flash

Find out what’s airing in science fiction and fantasy

The Walking Dead is off to a hell of a start in its sixth season, holding tightly to the record as the most-watched drama on TV among younger adults. The first two episodes have been some of the show’s absolute best, and the ball keeps rolling — and gathering more guts and grime — in Sunday’s new episode “Thank You.”

As usual AMC is keeping tight-lipped with its episode loglines, but the new episode follows closely on the heels of last week’s fight to find a homecoming that “doesn’t go as expected.” (Real specific there, AMC.)

Also this week: Stargate‘s J.R. Bourne (“Martouf”) guest stars on Arrow as a deadly meta-human, and on Heroes Tommy and Emily embark on a journey after he discovers a surprising truth. Audrey’s friends fight to save her from the Sandman’s dream world on a new episode of Haven, while Maisie Williams returns as a functionally immortal woman on Doctor Who.

The Flash is still one of our favorite shows on television, and this week we’re especially excited to see veteran actor Michael Ironside guest star. At one time or another Ironside has appeared in just about everything you’ve ever seen ever. Who’s he playing? Lewis Snart, none other than the patriarch of the Captain Cold / Golden Glider clan.
