Sci-Fi This Week: Gotham‘s Premiere, More Shows Return!

Find out what’s airing in science fiction and fantasy this week.

Welcome to the start of the 2014-2015 broadcast season! This week marks the official fall kick-off, bringing one high-profile premiere and several returning favorites in science fiction and fantasy.

There’s no better show to kick off the season than FOX’s Gotham, which will give us a brand new view on the city as it is before Batman. That leads into season premieres for two of our favorite new shows from last season: Sleepy Hollow (FOX) and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (ABC).

And the season premieres aren’t over yet. When the weekend arrives we’ll see the fourth season debut of Once Upon A Time, followed by the second season of Resurrection on ABC.

MONDAY

“This Is War.” Ichabod finds himself buried alive in a coffin; Abbie is trapped in purgatory; Ichabod’s wife, Katrina, has been kidnapped by the Headless Horseman; Capt. Frank Irving is behind bars for a murder he did not commit; and Abbie’s sister, Jenny, is among the wreckage of a horrific car crash.
TUESDAY
Agents of SHIELD (201) - ShadowsAGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
ABC, 9/8c – SEASON PREMIERE!
“Shadows.” Coulson and his team are now wanted fugitives with limited resources — but that’s not stopping them from keeping the world safe from powerful and unseen threats everywhere. However, with new members they hardly know, will S.H.I.E.L.D. ever be trusted again?

“Spotlight.” Nathan makes a desperate play to protect Mara from the angry citizens of Haven, leaving Dwight and Duke on their own to deal with a deadly trouble that threatens to burn the town to the ground.
SATURDAY
Doctor Who (806) - The CaretakerDOCTOR WHO
BBC America, 8/7c
“The Caretaker.” When terrifying events threaten Coal Hill school the Doctor decides to go undercover. The Skovox Blitzer is ready to destroy all humanity – and worse, any second now, Danny Pink and the Doctor are going to meet.
SUNDAY
Once Upon A Time (401) - A Tale of Two SistersONCE UPON A TIME

“A Tale of Two Sisters.” A scared and confused Elsa finds herself in Storybrooke and, fearful of the intentions of its residents, creates a powerful snow monster for protection. Mr. Gold finds an intriguing object that makes him question whether he should give Belle control over the dagger. Meanwhile, in Arendelle of the past, Elsa’s sister Anna discovers that their parents were heading to a mysterious destination in a quest that may have held the secret to containing Elsa’s out of control powers.
Resurrection (201) - RevelationRESURRECTION
ABC, 9/8c – SEASON PREMIERE!
“Revelation.” Bellamy awakens alone and abandoned at Arcadia’s outskirts, missing a week of his life. As his memory returns, he has a shocking revelation. Meanwhile, Arcadia welcomes one more returned, Margaret Langston, the powerful matriarch of the Langston family, dead for over three decades.
