The Cerritos' new Tamarian security chief leads the team on a mission to help index the belongings of a deceased collector, putting Mariner in competition with Ensign Jet Manhaver. Meanwhile, Boimler struggles to keep up with life on the U.S.S. Titan.

While Tendi enlists Mariner for help completing a special task for Dr. T'Ana, Boimler has trouble convincing the ship to recognize his existence. Rutherford is consumed by the mystery of how a member of the bridge crew came back to life.

The sighting of a dangerous Mugato leads the Cerritos crew to stumble upon a Ferengi poaching operation, as Boimler and Rutherford are convinced that Mariner is secretly a black-ops assassin. Tendi goes to great lengths to complete an assignment from Dr. T'Ana.

While the crew deals with an insecure diplomat who duplicates himself as an emotional defense mechanism, Mariner and Boimler try to crash a legendary Starfleet party on Starbase 25.

While Captain Freeman attempts to negotiate peace with the Pakleds the ship welcomes a Pakled refugee who is obviously an inept spy. Meanwhile the ensigns are assigned clean-up duty for the many unpredictable anomalies left over from the crew's missions.

While Lt. Commander Billups takes Rutherford to do repair work on his Hysperian mother's ship, Mariner and Boimler are stranded on an uninhabited planet with a manipulative sentient computer.

When a consultant puts the crew through a series of drills to prove their mettle, the lower deckers trade places with the bridge crew to take on holographic challenges.

With the crew enjoying some down time during a long warp journey, Boimler tries to find a bridge buddy. Elsewhere, the lower decks crews of Klingon and Vulcan ships face their own personal trials.

As the U.S.S. Cerritos crew prepares to aid another ship on a first contact mission, Mariner learns that the captain is being transferred to a new command.
