New Teaser And Photos For Snowpiercer’s Final Season

The wait is nearly over, as the fourth and final season of Snowpiercer speeds our way July 21 on AMC.

Snowpiercer is speeding its way back to our screens, following an extra-long hiatus that saw the show cancelled at its previous home after the fourth season had already been produced.

New broadcaster AMC has announced that the fourth and final season of the post-apocalyptic train drama will premiere Sunday, July 21 at 9 pm (ET/PT), and will be available to stream on AMC+.

Today AMC revealed new Snowpiercer plot details along with a 30-second teaser spot. Take a look:

The season premiere, titled “Snakes In The Garden.” Based on this short teaser it looks like two of the survivors (Till and Ben) encounter a previously unknown force — another group of humans who have survived the long winter, evidently without being on the train. From AMC:

Nine months after Snowpiercer and Big Alice parted ways, Till and Ben encounter unforeseen enemies when Melanie sends them off the train on a reconnaissance mission. Meanwhile, the residents of New Eden face uncertain times and unknown adversaries, compelling them to further confront the complexities of their new reality.

Set more than seven years after the world has become a frozen wasteland, Snowpiercer centers on the remnants of humanity who inhabit a perpetually moving train, with 1001 cars, that circles the globe. Class warfare, social injustice and the politics of survival play out in this riveting television adaptation based on the graphic novel series by Jacques Lob and Jean-Marc Rochette, and the film from Oscar®-winner Bong Joon Ho (Parasite). The action-packed finale of Season 3 left a split with Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) leading the Eternal Engine and those passengers who chose to stay aboard Snowpiercer for relative safety, and Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) leading the others on Big Alice choosing to adventure to the unknown, outside world of New Eden.

Also released today is the first look at “Milius,” a new character played by Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actor Clark Gregg (above). He appears to be part of the new group — perhaps its leader. Also joining the cast in Season 4 is Tony® Award-winner Michael Aronov (The Americans).

Snowpiercer stars Jennifer Connelly, Diggs, Sean Bean, Rowan Blanchard, Emmy® nominee Alison Wright, Mickey Sumner, Iddo Goldberg, Katie McGuinness, nominee Lena Hall, Sam Otto, Chelsea Harris, Mike O’Malley, Roberto Urbina and Sheila Vand. Paul Zbyszewski and Christoph Schrewe executive produce the show along with Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, and Alissa Bachner.

The first three seasons aired on TNT, which cancelled the show after greenlighting the fourth season.

Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on AMC+ in the United States, with Season 3 dropping on June 8.
