Faced with a terrible future, Peter Petrelli travels back to the present day to change everything. Sylar catches up with Claire, while Maya helps Suresh make an important discovery. Hiro uncovers a family secret that could put the world at risk, only to have it stolen from under his nose.

Sylar infiltrates the Company and finds Level 5, where the world's most dangerous villains are imprisoned. Hiro and Ando track the speedster thief, and Future Peter runs into more problems after averting a terrible fate. Tracy Strauss pays a visit to Nathan, and makes a shocking discovery about herself.

Noah is surprised when Sylar is assigned to help him stop the escaped men from Level 5 from robbing a bank. Claire's mother gives her a lesson in facing evil, while Matt encounters a vision of his future. Hiro and Ando attempt to intercept the second half of the formula before Daphne can steal it.

Peter travels four years into the future to a world where abilities are commonplace, and where the people he thought were good are pursuing him as a terrorist and a murderer. Mohinder struggles with the side-effects of his new ability, while Nathan and Tracy both try and decide what to do next.

Claire goes after a Level 5 escapee who can create vortexes, but sympathizes with him when she hears how he lost his family because of his power -- only to have Noah and Sylar show up to apprehend him, as well. Hiro and Ando turn to a dangerous foe to find out who is collecting the formula, and Maya discovers Suresh's frightening transformation.

Hiro heads to Africa on a mission to win favor with the "villains" of Pineheart, while Daphne is sent to bring Matt Parkman into the fold -- not knowing that he is looking for her, too. Claire and her mother try to save Meredith from the puppet master Doyla, and Sylar seeks help from Peter.

Mohinder takes Maya to Pinehearst, and finds a potential savior in its very powerful leader. When Elle shows up at the Bennet house, she and Claire decide to pay a visit to the new company as well. Sylar attempts to rescue Peter, while Daphne is given an ultimatum about Matt.

A series of flashbacks reveal the Company's early investigation of Gabriel Gray, Arthur Petrelli's connection to Linderman and betrayal of his family, and Meredith's chance at becoming a Company agent.

Nathan confronts his father after learning that he is still live, while Ando tries to remind Hiro of who he is after Arthur makes him think he is a 10-year-old boy. Matt takes on Arthur in an attempt to wake up Angela, and Sylar faces a vengeful Elle.

Arthur sends Sylar and Elle to capture Claire, who is being trained to fight by her father. Nathan and Peter go in search of the Haitian, while Matt follows Daphne to her hometown in Kansas when she loses faith in herself. The arrival of an eclipse robs everyone of their special abilities.

Noah hunts for Sylar while his daughter, the immortal Claire, lays dying in a hospital. Ando tries to help Hiro get his memory back by reading 9th Wonders at a comic book store. In Haiti, Peter and the Haitian must rescue Nathan and stop the Haitian's warlord brother.

Claire tries to stop the Company from making her the catalyst after Hiro brings her 16 years into the past. In the present day Nathan takes control of Pineheart, while Angela orders Peter to kill his father. Matt, Daphne and Ando attempt to retrieve Isaac's sketch book, and Sylar returns to his old ways.

Peter and Nathan find themselves on opposite sides over whether to use the now complete formula that can give normal people abilities. Sylar locks Claire, Noah, Angela and Meredith inside Primatech and hunts them. Ando takes the formula in the hopes of rescuing Hiro from the past, with startling consequences.

VOLUME 4: FUGITIVES - As the heroes try to return to normal lives, Senator Nathan Petrelli moves to round them up with help from government forces. But Claire learns of his plans and tries to warn his next targets. Sylar begins the search for his real parents.

Following an airplane crash, Claire puts herself on the line to try and help the surviving heroes escape. Ando and Daphne go in search of their friends, and Tracy must decide where her loyalties lie. Sylar torments a mother and son to make a talk, but finds an unexpected ally.

Claire works to thwart her father's efforts to capture innocent people with abilities, while Nathan gets a rude awakening from his new Homeland Security boss. Ando and Hiro try to stop the wedding of an Indian woman, and Sylar continues his quest for his father, but grows impatient with his new companion.

Matt, Peter and Mohinder kidnap Noah Bennet and probe his mind to learn how the government project to round up people with abilities began, and who is really in charge.

Claire goes to great lengths to protect Alex from the government, while Matt and Peter break into Building 26 in search of Daphne. Sylar uncovers childhood memories that show his father's true nature.

Danko and Nathan set themselves against each other, with Danko trying to prove that the Senator has an ability. Sylar finally comes face-to-face with his real father. Puppetmaster Doyle turns up at the Bennet house asking Claire for help.

After Rebel breaks Tracy out of Building 26, she considers leading Bennet to him in exchange for her freedom. Angela tries to avoid capture herself, while Hiro and Ando protect Matt Parkman's infant son. Matt is reunited with Daphne.

On the run from the organization he created, Nathan takes Claire south of the border. Sylar offers to help Danko find the man who killed three of his men, while Angela Petrelli -- now hunted herself -- seeks insight into where to go next.

Noah Bennet grows suspicious that the body in his morgue is not Sylar's, while the real Sylar plans to torment him. Parkman uses his ability to target someone Danko cares about, and Hiro and Ando try to get Matt's temperamental baby to New York.

Angela recalls her childhood visit with her sister to Coyote Sands, a desert relocation camp, hoping to face her dark secrets and reunite her family.

Sylar's new ability gives him an identity crisis, making him even more unstable. Hiro and Ando hatch a plan to try and infiltrate Building 26, and Micah finds himself in Danko's crosshairs.

At great risk to themselves, Nathan and Peter try and stop Sylar from catching up with the President and stealing his identity. Danko and Bennet find themselves back on the same side, and Hiro's ability begins to threaten his own life when he and Ando enter Building 26.
