Sci-Fi This Week: Three Shows Return, Two New Series Debut!

If, for some strange reason, new shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Sleepy Hollow aren’t enough to satisfy your craving for something new, and if you want more new seasons than Revolution and The Vampire Diaries, this is the week for you. Premiere season isn’t over yet, and this week is a big one: Broadcast and cable TV in the U.S. is adding FOUR FIVE more shows to the weekly viewing roster for genre fans.

Last year’s hit comic book series Arrow is back this week on Wednesdays, with the premiere of Season Two. And Oliver Queen and company have brought along a friend: The Tomorrow People makes its much-anticipated premiere Wednesday night, right after Arrow. (It stars Robbie Amell, who just happens to be cousin to Arrow star Stephen Amell!) Tuesday, Supernatural returns for its incredible ninth season.

But we’re not done yet. On Thursday your fantasy options are broadening, with the debut of Once Upon A Time In Wonderland. It’s a spin-off of … well, you know. We’ve seen the 20-minute pilot presentation for the show, and while we were skeptical at first, the cast really does sell this one. Michael Socha, Emma Rigby, Peter Gadiot, and especially “Alice” actress Sophie Lowe … we kinda love you already.

And if all that isn’t enough, then on Sunday cable’s monster hit is back: The Walking Dead begins its fourth season.

SLEEPY HOLLOW
FOX, 9/8c
“The Lesser Key of Solomon.” Abbie and Crane search for her sister Jenny after she escapes from a psychiatric hospital, and learn more about the evil forces they are facing.

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.
ABC, 8/7c
“The Asset.” Skye may be the team’s only way to rescue a brilliant scientist, Dr. Franklin Hall, after he is kidnapped.

THE ORIGINALS
The CW, 8/7c
“House of the Rising Sun.” Rebekah arrives in New Orleans and receives some unexpected news from Hayley. When she becomes concerned that Klaus is up to no good, Rebekah seeks help from a reluctant Sophie. Meanwhile, Klaus tries to uncover Marcel’s secret weapon; and Marcel enlists Davina’s help to carry out his own dangerous plan.

SUPERNATURAL
The CW, 9/8c
“I Think I’m Gonna Like It Here.” Sam collapses as Season 9 begins and Dean sends out an emergency plea via prayer to every angel in the area to help Sam. In exchange, Dean agrees to owe that angel a favor. But his request is answered by numerous angry angels who want to kill him. Meanwhile, Castiel struggles to survive without his powers.

REVOLUTION
NBC, 8/7c
“Love Story.” While a troubled Willoughby is threatened by legions of tribesmen, Rachel acts to try and rescue Miles. Meanwhile, Charlie and Adam debate what should be done with Monroe.

ARROW
The CW, 8/7c – Season Premiere!
“City of Heroes.” Oliver is convinced to return home to find his family in disarray and his city under new threats — while his allies try to desperately to hold things together in his absence.

THE TOMORROW PEOPLE
The CW, 9/8c – Series Premiere!
“Pilot.” Stephen Jameson discovers the truth about his emerging supernatural abilities when he meets others like him — but also becomes the target of a dangerous group called Ultra, who want his help to eradicate the Tomorrow People.

ONCE UPON A TIME IN WONDERLAND
ABC, 8/7c – Series Premiere!
“Down the Rabbit Hole.” After being committed to a metal asylum, a despondent Alice receives news that her long-lost love, the genie Cyrus, is still alive. With help from a few remarkable friends, Alice leaves her life behind and sets out on a quest to Wonderland to find him. (Read our Pre-Review!)

THE VAMPIRE DIARIES
The CW, 8/7c
“True Lies.” Damon asks sheriff Forbes for help to find Stefan; Elena and Caroline try to find out who is covering up a campus murder; Matt and Jeremy attempt to protect Katherine from Silas; Nadia uses violence to make a point about her own agenda.

HAVEN
Syfy, 10/9c
“The New Girl.” Nathan struggles to come to terms with the fact that although Lexie is the spitting image of Audrey, her personality is the total opposite as the two work together to investigate a deadly “trouble” that seems to alter the behavior of its victims.

ONCE UPON A TIME
ABC, 8/7c
“Quite A Common Fairy.” Hook suggests tracking down Tinker Bell to help the group find Peter Pan’s hideout, unaware that Regina has history with the fairy. Meanwhile, Neal may have found a way to return to Emma.

THE WALKING DEAD
AMC, 9/8c – Season Premiere!
“30 Days Without An Accident.” Rick and the group are as close to an ideal life as possible at the prison. Will they be able to hold on to humanity in the face of a new evil?
