James Murray Joins Defiance For Season 2
The veteran British actor is the newest mayor of the town of Defiance.
British actor James Murray is the newest mayor of the town of Defiance.
The actor has joined Syfy Channel’s Defiance for its second season, playing the role of Niles Pottinger. Pottinger is an Earth Republic representative, who is assigned to be the town’s mayor following the catastrophic events of the first season finale.
The character is shrewd, calculating, and charming, according to the official website, and takes a keen interest in former mayor Amanda Rosewater (Julie Benz).
Murray is a veteran of British television, including soap opera Coronation Street and sci-fi hit Primeval. He also co-starred on the short-lived CBS drama Chaos.
