The new fall season is finally here in full bloom — so which shows are grabbing the most readers here at SciFi Stream? Here is the Top Ten countdown for October 2012!

10. Alphas
9. Star Trek: Deep Space Nine
8. Fringe
7. Primeval
6. Continuum
5.  Arrow
4.  Star Trek: The Next Generation
3.  Battlestar Galactica
2.  Defiance
1. Doctor Who

Versus last month, the Doctor held on to the top spot while newcomer Defiance — which doesn’t premiere until April — stormed onto our list by displacing even the great BSG out of the #2 spot.  Arrow also debuted big, entering the list this month in fifth place.

Somewhat surprisingly Revolution — one the most-watched genre shows of the fall season — fell out of our Top Ten last month, coming in at #13.

In the last few weeks we’ve been expanding a select few of our series guides to include more good stuff, include photo galleries, character pages, and video players.  Check out the sites for Touch and Defiance, for example — and let us know what other shows you’d like to see expanded here on SciFi Stream.

I’m always impressed by the fact that venerable fan favorites like Battlestar Galactica and the Star Trek franchise make the Top Ten list again and again. I assume that’s a combination of the fact that people are still watching these shows and searching for them online, and the fact that our at-a-glance episode guides are pretty handy for rewatches.

How do you use the site? Do you mainly keep tabs on brand new episodes of current series? Or do you also dip into our Show Archive every now and again?
