Defiance Season One Hits DVD and Blu-Ray October 15

The first season of Syfy’s newest hit is on its way to Blu-ray and DVD! Defiance: Season One arrives on October 15.

The series is set on a radically terraformed Earth in the years after a group of several alien races (the Votans) crash-landed on the planet. What was once the city of St. Louis is now the frontier town of Defiance, where humans and aliens attempt to build a society where they can live together in peace — despite threats from hostile aliens, a power-hungry Earth government, and some of their own population seeking to control a power hidden below the town streets.

The 3-disc Blu-ray set includes all 12 episodes of Season One (including the 2-hour premiere) in 1080p high-definition video, plus an UltraViolet digital copy, deleted scenes, “Defiance: A Transmedia Revolution,” “Making Defiance,” “Behind the Scenes with Jesse Rath” (who plays Alak Tarr), and a gag reel. It retails for $69.98, but you can pre-order it at Amazon for $48.93 (as of press time) and support SciFi Stream with your purchase.

The 3-disc DVD edition includes all the same content, along with standard definition episodes and the digital copy. It retails at $59.98, but Amazon’s pre-order price is currently $41.93.

Both editions also include English subtitles.
