NBC Pulls Believe For May Sweeps

The series returns with new episodes May 25

Renewal prospects don’t look so good for two of NBC’s mid-season freshman dramas. The network has benched both genre drama Believe and political thriller Crisis for the May sweeps period.

In their place NBC will re-air the 2-hour special Women of Saturday Night Live on May 18 (9/8c).

New episodes of Believe return on Sunday, May 25. In the next episode, says NBC, “Bo and Tate attempt to stop a subway bombing, only to find themselves trapped in the aftermath.”

The series premiered in March to more than 10.5 million people, and then moved to its Sunday night time slot to 6.57 million in its second week. The show has averaged 5.5 million viewers over nine weeks (Live + Same Day), and just shy of 4.9 million on Sundays.

Four new episodes remain. Viewers should know the show’s fate before it returns at the end of the month, as NBC will announce its fall line-up on May 12.
