Comic Book Hero Hourman Drama In Development At The CW

The classic hero can see events one hour into the future.

The CW is making itself the place to be for superheroes. The network has put yet another show into development that is based on a DC Comics superhero: this time, it’s the Hourman‘s turn.

First created in 1940, the Hourman is “a brilliant-yet-troubled pharmaceutical analyst who discovers that the visions that have plagued him since childhood are actually glimpses of tragic events occurring one hour in the future,” according to The Hollywood Reporter. “Determined to win back his ex-wife and son, he heroically prevents these tragedies from unfolding, finding both purpose and redemption along the way.”

Hourman will be written by Michael Caleo (Ironside, The Sopranos), who will executive produce with Dan Lin and Warner Brothers’ Jennifer Gwartz.

Hourman joins Flash (played by Glee‘s Grant Gustin) on The CW’s development slate. The network also has Arrow and The Tomorrow People currently on the air.

Meanwhile DC is also developing Constantine at NBC, and has a series commitment to Gotham (featuring a young Jim Gordon) with FOX.
