First Look At Dune: Prophecy, The Spin-Off TV Series Coming To Max

The prequel series will chronicle the rise of the Bene Gesserit order thousands of years before Paul Atreides.

Our very first look at the upcoming television series Dune: Prophecy is finally here, thanks to this week’s upfront advertising presentation by Warner Bros. Discovery. The studio released the first trailer for the show, confirming that it will stream on Max (formerly HBO Max) this fall.

Dune: Prophecy follows two Harkonnen sisters as they combat forces that threaten the future of humankind and establish the fabled sect that will become known as the Bene Gesserit. The show has long been in development at HBO as an expansion of director Denis Villeneuve hit feature films.

The series premieres this fall with a 6-episode first season. Check out the trailer:

Dune: Prophecy is inspired by the novel Sisterhood of Dune, written by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. The novel was published in 2012 as a new chapter in the venerable science fiction universe created by Frank Herbert.

Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, and Travis Fimmel star in the series along with Jodhi May, Mark Strong, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Josh Heuston, Chloe Lea, Jade Anouka, Faoileann Cunningham, Edward Davis, Aoife Hinds, Chris Mason, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Jihae, Tabu, Charithra Chandran, Jessica Barden, Emma Canning, and Yerin Ha.

Alison Schapker (Westworld, Altered Carbon) is executive producer and showrunner on Dune: Prophecy.
