“How far would you be willing to go to save the future?” If you don’t live in Canada, you may not have heard yet about Continuum — the newest science fiction series to hit the airwaves, set to debut on the premium cable network Showcase on May 27.

The show stars Rachel Nichols (Alias, Criminal Minds) as Kiera Cameron, a “CPS Protector” from the year 2077. When a group of fanatical terrorists escape their planned execution and travel back in time to the present day, Cameron is swept along with them.

Continuum premieres with a 2-hour event Sunday, May 27 at 9/8c on Showcase. The first season will be comprised of 10 episodes.

The series co-stars Victor Webster (Mutant X) as Carlos Fonnegra, Erik Knudsen (Jericho) as Alec Sadler, Stephen Lobo (Painkiller Jane) as Kellog, Richard Harmon (The Killing) as Julian, and Jennifer Spence (Stargate Universe) as Betty Robertson. Also watch out for other familiar faces from the Canadian talent pool, including Stargate SG-1‘s Lexa Doig and Tony Amendola, 24‘s Roger Cross, and Caprica‘s Brian Markinson.
