Confirmed: Farscape Movie In The Works

Creator Rockne O’Bannon confirmed the news over the weekend

There is indeed a Farscape movie in the works, series creator Rockne O’Bannon confirmed over the weekend. Bannon confirmed the news during an appearance at the “Showrunners Panel” at WonderCon in Anaheim, California.

Former Farscape scribe Justin Monjo is currently writing the script for the movie, as we reported in February. Director Brian Henson has reportedly also signed on.

“It’s the worst kept secret,” O’Bannon told SpoilerTV. “We’re far from production, but yeah, the first step is Justin [Monjo] working on a script for us. We’ll keep our fingers crossed.”

“Fingers crossed” means that full-fledged production and distribution of the film is not yet a done deal. Once they have a script in hand, the production team will likely take the project to studios or other financiers to fund it.

The story is said to follow a now 19-year-old D’Argo, son of John Crichton and Aeryn Sun, who rejoins his parents on board Moya after having been hidden away on earth for his childhood — since he had special powers that made him the target of some very evil aliens.

Stay tuned for new developments as they happen!
