Amazon Sends Chris Carter’s The After To Series

Watch the pilot now for free on Amazon

The creator of The X-Files is officially back into supernatural television — only now on the Internet.

Amazon has greenlit Chris Carter‘s The After to series, after a favorable reception by viewers who have been able to watch and comment on the pilot over the past five weeks. (You can still watch it for free at Amazon.)

In the show, “eight strangers are thrown together by mysterious forces and must help each other survive in a violent world that defies explanation,” says Amazon. (Watch a pair of sneak-peeks below.)

Carter wrote and directed the pilot, which stars Aldis Hodge, Andrew Howard, Arielle Kebbel, Jamie Kennedy, Sharon Lawrence, Jaina Lee Ortiz, Adrian Pasdar, and Louise Monot.

Amazon has also given the go-ahead to drama Bosch (starring Titus Welliver) and comedies Mozart in the Jungle and Transparent. Bosch and The After represent the site’s first forays into original drama.
