CBS Teases Summer Series Extant, Adds Camryn Manheim
Watch the first teaser for CBS’s summer series starring Halle Berry.
CBS is getting into the science fiction business with this summer’s Extant, which will star Halle Berry as an astronaut who tries to reconnect with her family after a year in space. The network has already started airing the first teaser for the show, which you can watch below.
The early teaser bears the message “Life Always Finds A Way,” and contrasts “extant” with “extinct.”
CBS also announced that it has added Camryn Manheim (The Practice, Ghost Whisperer) to the cast. She’ll play Sam Barton, best friend and confidant to Berry’s character, Molly Watts.
Manheim recently made an appearance on CBS’s Person of Interest, playing Diane Claypool — Shaw’s former boss, who captured and tortured “Root” (Amy Acker).
The cast list for Extant so far also includes Hiroyuki Sanada (Helix) as Kinji Matsumo, and young Pierce Gagnon (One Tree Hill) as Ethan Watts. The “mystery thriller” series comes from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin TV and CBS Television Studios.
