The Tomorrow People, The Originals Get Full-Season Pick-Ups

The CW gives full-season orders to three freshman series, also including Reign.

The CW has ordered pick-ups for all three of its freshman series, giving the sci-fi show The Tomorrow People, fantasy The Originals, and period drama Reign all a full first season.

“In just a few seasons, we have built a much stronger primetime schedule,” network president Mark Pedowitz said. “Our on-air ratings are up year to year, and our digital viewing continues to grow exponentially. We’re excited about the creative momentum the producers have established for all three of our new series, and now our fans will have the chance to see the full stories unfold for them this season.

“With the additional episodes ordered, plus two new dramas and new reality for midseason, we’ll be able to continue our commitment to adding more original programming all year long.”

Those dramas are the science fiction series The 100 and Star-Crossed, both expected to premiere after New Year’s.

The CW said that so far this season it is up 9 percent in total viewers and 10 percent in the adults 18 to 49 demographic, with 31 percent of its total broadcast audience now coming from time-shifted viewing.

Stick with SciFi Stream for continuing coverage of all of The CW’s science fiction, fantasy, and comic book shows! The Tomorrow People airs Wednesdays at 9/8c, and The Originals on Tuesdays at 8/7c.
