Video: First Peek At Halle Berry’s Extant
The new 10-second spot also reveals a bit plot point
We’re getting excited about the hot new series Extant, which reportedly had a great script that got the networks into a bidding war. The show stars Halle Berry (X-Men), and premieres July 9 (9/8c) on CBS.
The network recently released the third-ish short teaser for the show — but it’s the first to feature footage from the show. It only runs 10 seconds but it gives a good look at Berry’s character, Molly Woods, an astronaut who returns to Earth after a year in space and tries to reconnect with her husband and son.

The teaser hints at a major plot point that may be the center of the series’ storyline: Molly is evidently pregnant. How did she get pregnant in outer space? Is it an immaculate conception? Is the baby even human?
It offers up some interesting possibilities regarding the show’s title, which is the opposite of extinct.
