Once Wonderland: Naveen Andrews Is Jafar!
Once fans have their first look at the evil genie.
When Once Upon A Time creators cast Naveen Andrews as the evil Jafar for the new spin-off Once Upon A Time In Wonderland, it sounded just right. Now we have our first look at the actor in the role.
Andrews turns up briefly in a new promo spot released by ABC (check it out below), in which he utters the sinister line “I have very special plans for her” — likely referring to the show’s heroine, Alice (Sophie Lowe).
The London-born actor played Sayid Jarrah on LOST. More recently, he co-starred on the U.K. adventure series Sinbad as Lord Akbari.
Andrews has said that the show’s version of Jafar — a villain turned powerful genie from Aladdin — will be a very different take from the animated character … and won’t come with a talking parrot sidekick.
