Orphan Black

Sci-Fi This Week: Orphan Black, Warehouse 13 Return!

Find out what’s airing in science fiction and fantasy this week.

When Warehouse 13 premiered on Syfy Channel on July 7, 2009, it was the network’s third highest-rated debut. Within a few weeks the show broke the cable channel’s ratings record for a scripted drama (Live + 7 Days), and over its four years has been a power player.

Now we have reached the warehouse agents’ fifth season, and it’s the beginning of the end. Only six episodes remain, so don’t miss tonight’s season premiere!

Also debuting this week is Metal Hurlant Chronicles, a French import based on the graphic novel series. It’s an anthology series, so the cast and setting of every episode is different. Guest stars include Joe Flanigan (Stargate Atlantis), James Marsters (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), and Rutger Hauer (Blade Runner).

Each episode runs just 30 minutes, so Syfy will air two episodes back-to-back in the 8/7c time slot on Mondays. The first season has only six episodes (so enjoy it while it lasts), with more to come in Season Two.

Last but certainly not least is the return of one of 2013’s coolest new shows: Orphan Black kicks off its second season this Saturday night on BBC America (9/8c)! Tatiana Maslany stars in multiple roles including Sarah, a streetwise London girl who has discovered that she was part of a cloning program. If you haven’t joined the “Clone Club,” catch up with all 10 episodes of Season One with a marathon this Friday (9 a.m. to 7 p.m. E/P, and then again from 8 p.m. until 6 a.m.).
