To redeem himself in the eyes of the Children of the Watch, Din Djarin sets out on a journey to Mandalore — but runs afoul of pirates after a visit to Nevarro.

Din attempts to acquire a droid on Tatooine to help him scout the lost mines of Mandalore, a once great planet left uninhabitable by the Empire — and one that still conceals deadly secrets.

After Din is rescued by Bo-Katan they soon run afoul of Imperial TIE fighters. On Coruscant, Dr. Penn Pershing is tempted by one of Moff Gideon's former officers to resume his cloning work and risk the pardon he has been given by the New Republic.

Bo-Katan is welcomed into the secret Mandalorian covert, and after a foundling is taken by a large raptor she leads a Mandalorian rescue party to recover the boy. Grogu begins his training as a Mandalorian, and recalls his fateful escape from the Jedi Temple many years ago.

After Nevarro is attacked by the pirate king Gorian Shard, a New Republic pilot brings Din Djarin and the Mandalorians a desperate plea for help from Greef Karga.

After tracking her former allies to an independent world Plazir, Bo-Katan and Din are recruited to investigate an outbreak of malfunctions among Imperial droids that were supposedly rehabilitated.
