Matt Murdoch tries to move on with life after Daredevil, while Jessica Jones takes on a missing persons case. Luke Cage is freed from Seagate Prison and returns home to Harlem, and Danny Rand returns to New York after a fruitless search for the forces of Hand. Meanwhile, a powerful cabal puts a deadly plan in motion.

After an earthquake hits Hell's Kitchen Matt struggles with picking up his alter ego once again, while Jessica's investigation puts her into Hogarth's crosshairs. After Colleen and Danny discover that they may have allies in their fight against the Hand, Luke Cage has a run-in with the immortal Iron Fist.

Months in the past Alexandra brings the Black Sky into the world, preparing her for her role in the Hand's plans. Claire introduces Luke and Danny, and Matt tries to insert himself into Jessica's problems.

As Danny pushes Matt, Luke, and Jessica to join forces against the Hand, Stick reveals the true nature of their common enemy -- and Alexandra turns to allies of her own.

The Hand sends in criminal reinforcements to try and capture Danny, only to lose of their leadership to the Defenders. Colleen comes face-to-face with her former sensei, and the Defenders learn that those closest to them may be the Hand's next targets. Meanwhile, Alexandra's weapon begins to explore her past.

The Defenders determine to hide Danny from the Hand, pitting them against their new friend. As the Hand reels from a defeat Alexandra finds her position increasingly tenuous, and Matt and Jessica try to learn what purpose the enemy has for the Iron Fist.

The Defenders recover from a devastating attack by the Hand, but must find their way out of police custody before they can rescue Danny. Elektra makes a play for power, appealing to Danny's sense of purpose to achieve her own ends.

Daredevil, Jessica, and Luke infiltrate the Hand's secret lair deep below Midland Circle to save their friend and end the enemy's plans for New York. As Colleen confronts Bakuto, Matt prepares for a final confrontation with Elektra.
