After the death of her parents, Jax (Priscilla Quintana) matriculates at the Fleet Training Academy on Earth where she learns to defend the Galaxy from intergalactic threats and makes a new family of friends, but also makes a shocking discovery about her own identity.

From Space:

In the series premiere, Jax enrolls in Earth Confederacy Fleet Academy after her parents are killed during a mysterious attack on a distant Earth colony. At the Academy, Jax discovers that her Uncle, Donovan Osborn (Noah Huntley), a respected professor, is not who she thought he was, but rather the leader of a super-covert spy agency on Earth. Unbeknownst to Jax, Donovan has learned that Jax (a.k.a. Pandora) is not actually fully human. But if she’s not, what is she? And is Pandora the instrument of our salvation or of our destruction?
