‘Moonlight’ Staked By CBS

"It's true. We found out about an hour ago that 'Moonlight' has been officially canceled." Review: ‘Moonlight’ – What’s Left Behind

The following contains MAJOR SPOILERS from "What's Left Behind," the 15th episode of the CBS series "Moonlight." “How do you tell a man twice your age that you’re his father?” This is the issue that Mick St. John (Alex O’Loughlin) faces when he works on a case that reminds him of “What’s Left Behind.” A young boy, Jacob (Daniel Goldman from “Dexter”), who believed he heard monsters in the wall, is kidnapped. Mick suspects it might be a vampire who kidnapped him. ADA Hottie Ben Talbot (Eric Winter) is on the case, and asks Beth (Sophia Myles) to help out, because she had covered two other unsolved cases like this while working at Buzzwire. The house is an old home, which has a coal chute that had tunnels that went through the walls and allowed him access to space in the ceilings and floors. ...

‘Moonlight’ Finale To End With Cliffhanger

If you were hoping that “Moonlight” would at least try to wrap up some of its stories for the end of its first season then you’re going to be disappointed because according to show star Jason Dohring, despite not having a pickup for a second year the series will be ending with a cliffhanger destined to have fans screaming for more. And during the run up to the finale, “Moonlight” will focus more on the vampire mythology that has thus far been more of a backdrop to ths show and also bring all the characters together for a common purpose: survival. “You’ll see a lot more of the vampire mythology coming up, but in the final show, you’ll see us all kind of meet,” Dohring told SciFi Wire. “We have, like, a vampire conference. It’s really cool. And we each kind of have our place. “We all get together ...

Sophia Myles: ‘Moonlight’ Renewal Looks Good

There won’t be any official word on the fate of the vampire drama until next month, but show star Sophia Myles believes the chances of renewal are good. "I’d put pretty much all of the money I have in my bank account on the fact that we will get picked up,” Myles said, according to SciFi Wire. “I think that’s largely to do with the amount of fan support and dedication.” The actress also went on to say that the reaction of the fans is the greatest thing about working on the show because since day one, “Moonlight” has been blessed with a very loyal following. “One of the biggest pleasures of working on this show is the fan base, because we have the most wonderful fans in the world,” she said. “And it kind of makes it all worthwhile knowing that there’s a whole bunch of people whose hearts you’re ...

O’Loughlin Foreshadows ‘Moonlight’ Finale

This story contains MODERATE SPOILERS for upcoming episodes of "Moonlight." According to Alex O'Loughlin, who plays vampire Mick St. John on the CBS series "Moonlight," there are major developments in store for the final three episodes of the season. In the May 2 episode, "Mick, for the first time, has to start seriously thinking about his level of exposure in the public eye, because when a vampire gets too overexposed, they have to change cities, change names, do all that stuff. And the case is awesome," O'Loughlin told SciFi Wire. He also said that the 15th episode "is probably my favorite of this installation of four." "It's a story where basically Mick thinks he has found his son, who is, in fact, twice his age," he said. "I mean, Mick's really 90. But this guy's like ...

Review: ‘Moonlight’ – Fated To Pretend

The following contains MAJOR SPOILERS for "Fated To Pretend," the thirteenth episode of the CBS series "Moonlight." With the body count of friends and loved ones in Beth Turner's life is mounting, you know "Moonlight" has returned. In "Fated To Pretend," the first new episode produced since the writers' strike ended, someone is fated to pretend something. Mick (Alex O'Loughlin) is fully human after taking the mortal cure, and he's loving it. He rediscovers food, and embarks on an episode-long romance with hot dogs, coffee, and donuts. Oh, also a romance with Beth(Sophia Myles), but he partook in more donuts than Beth. Still, he's sleeping in a bed instead of a freezer. He's walking bare-chested in the sunshine along the beach. He’s eating food at the beach. Oh. And Beth's there, ...

Showrunner Change Won’t Affect ‘Moonlight’ Too Much

This story contains MINOR SPOILERS for remaining episodes of the first season of "Moonlight" on CBS. If and when CBS decides to bring "Moonlight" back for a second season, the network will have to make sure there is much more stability in the showrunner's office. Executive Producer Joel Silver is the third person to take on showrunner duties for "Moonlight" this season which resumes with new episodes on Friday, and he's only doing it temporary meaning when the second season starts next fall -- if it starts at all -- the show will have its fourth showrunner. But as David Greenwalt and Chip Johannessen made their stints on the show brief, "Moonlight" itself is pretty much staying on course in terms of story and direction, said Jason Dohring, who plays the old vampire Josef Konstantin ...

Silver Seeking More ‘Moonlight’

While there is no official word on the status of "Moonlight," writers for the vampire detective series are working on stories for a second season. "We're hopeful," executive producer Joel Silver told SciFi Wire. "We're going to go in, as a matter of fact, next week for a pitch meeting to tell [CBS] what we're going to do next year. And then that, coupled with the ratings, we'll know what happens." According to Silver, the new episode of "Moonlight" which airs this Friday night, "is a really great episode. It starts out, Mick [Alex O'Loughlin] is still human, but then he has to go back to being a vampire. And I have three more really strong episodes" in subsequent weeks. CBS will announce its fall lineup in May at its annual upfront presentation in New York. While the ratings ...

‘Moonlight’ Has Better Chance Than ‘Jericho’

"Jericho" fans lost their show ... at least for now ... but will fans of "Moonlight" have to suffer through a similar fate? Nina Tassler, president of CBS Entertainment, says both of its genre shows are on two different paths. "One thing 'Moonlight' has going for it is it wins its time period," Tassler told The Hollywood Reporter. "Unlike 'Jericho,' 'Moonlight' is not serialized." The question came up as fans wondered if CBS would continue to give series that might not be getting the strongest ratings a chance to continue. The network had revived "Jericho" after canceling it at the end of the 2006-07 season, but then canceled the show against last month when viewership levels dropped below its previous lows. "Moonlight" made the schedule as a presentation rather than a production ...
