Back when Wired asked Joss Whedon about how publicity was going for Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, he joking replied, "Fact is, there's been some buzz, but it hasn't reached the places it would normally. Where's our write-up in Crocheting Monthly?"

Funny guy, that Whedon. But to the crocheting community, that was no joke. Kim Werker over at the Crochet Me site put out a call to crocheters everywhere to get Whedon's attention—and they did!

About a year and a half ago I interviewed uber-cool TV show creator Joss Whedon about his upcoming Fox series, Dollhouse, and as he often is in interviews, he was funny, playful and excited. But this time he was also just a touch combative, as if he couldn't wait to get the interview over with, acting as if I should have known all this stuff already.

After coming off successful runs of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, and the unjustly canceled Firefly, he said something that was far more interesting than trying to convince us that Dollhouse would work. "I did not set out to do a show for Eliza [Dushku]," he said. "I set out to talk to Eliza about what she might want to do with a show. I had no intention of being back in TV."

Fox's Dollhouse finishes its run tonight, and that makes us sad: Not because we necessarily loved Dollhouse, which creator Joss Whedon took a bit long to make interesting, and which Fox handled as it had Whedon's Firefly, even though it picked it up for a second season despite low ratings.

No, what really gets us is that Whedon will once again be off the air, and we will miss his distinctive voice, one that makes us laugh and cry and, sometimes, become giddy with delight.

The series finale of Fox's Dollhouse, originally scheduled for Jan. 22, will be bumped a week to accommodate the Haiti telethon, airing on many broadcast and cable networks; "Epitaph Two: Return" will instead air on Jan. 29 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. Smallville's return to The CW is similarly delayed.

Last Friday's episode of Joss Whedon's canceled series, "Getting Closer," revealed that Boyd Langton (Harry Lennix) is the head of the nefarious Rossum Corp. (or is he?) and that Dr. Saunders (Acker) has been romantically involved with Langton for months, since she disappeared. Is she involved with Rossum as well?
