Last we heard about a proposed movie based on DC Comics' Flash, writer David Goyer said it was "shrouded in mystery." Well, the mystery has lifted a bit, if we are to believe our athletically inclined pals at IESB.net: They're reporting that Greg Berlanti, co-writer of the upcoming Green Lantern and director of Life as We Know It, is in line to direct:

Ready for a new Man of Steel? Or should that be a new old Man of Steel? DC Comics announced today that Superman will be reconnecting with his roots next year in Superman: Earth One, from the creative team of writer J. Michael Straczynski and artist Shane Davis.

According to DC's official site, The Source, both Superman and Batman will be reborn "with their first years and earliest moments retold in a standalone, original graphic novel format, on a new earth with an all-new continuity."

If you’re wondering whether or not to check out the film, I highly recommend you do. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing it and I’d rate it as ‘excellent’ – easily the best animated Superman or Batman movie I’ve ever seen.
