The new year has arrived and the winter television season is upon us! That means several new and returning shows are teeing up this month, while we’re saying goodbye to a few others.
This week most of the returning fall shows are still on hiatus, while most of the winter shows won’t begin for another week. So pickings may be a bit slim for science fiction and fantasy shows this week.
But the good news is that this Friday will bring the series premiere of one of cable’s most anticipated new shows: Syfy’s Helix (Syfy, 10/9c). We’ll have all the latest right here on SciFi Stream.
Here is your day-by-day schedule for this week in genre television!
“Simon Says.” Detective Kennex is targeted by a psychopathic killer who is broadcasting his victims’ final moments over the Internet. Allessandro Juliani (Battlestar Galactica) guest stars.
SLEEPY HOLLOW returns next Monday at 9/8c on FOX.
“Anchors.” Three weeks after saving the lives of their parents, Scott, Stiles and Allison begin to suffer strange side effects from their ritual sacrifice. At the same time, the newly enlightened Sheriff Stilinski scours through old cases, reassessing whether each could have had supernatural causes.
“The Magical Place.” Coulson uncovers vital information about the mystery of his death, but, with Centipede out for blood, this knowledge may come at the cost of one of the team.
THE ORIGINALS returns next Tuesday at 8/7c on The CW.
SUPERNATURAL returns next Tuesday at 9/8c on The CW.
“Three Amigos.” Neville and Julia mount a new plot while Aaron quests after the nanites.
ARROW returns next Wednesday at 8/7c on The CW.
THE TOMORROW PEOPLE returns next Wednesday at 9/8c on The CW.
THE VAMPIRE DIARIES returns January 23 at 8/7c on The CW.
“Eyes of the Beholder.” Nick and Hank are called to the scene of a gang-related homicide, and Hank’s physical therapist and her brother are soon caught up in the investigation.
Syfy, 10/9c – Series Premiere!
“Pilot.” After a possible disease outbreak at a remote research station, Dr. Alan Farragut leads a C.D.C. team to investigate — where they find much more than a simple virus.
“Vector.” Dr. Alan Farragut and his team work to treat the outbreak patients and contain the virus, while at the same time a rebellion erupts at the Arctic Biosystems base.
BBC America, 9/8c
“The Furies.” The trio are charged with escorting a valuable cargo across the desert, travelling into the unknown with a ramshackle caravan of strangers — and Pythagoras’s feisty younger brother Arcas, who has joined them for the trip. The mission soon takes a decidedly spooky turn when they spend the night in a temple, where it becomes clear one of the travellers has something to hide.
