But sadly, only one of those three shows are returning next year, and not even in the fall
Fans of Michael Giacchino’s score for the 2009 Star Trek movie are in for a treat. Varese Sarabande has announced they will be releasing a limited edition 2-disc version of the film’s soundtrack in June. More details below.

Now that Lost has ended, Star Trek producer/director JJ Abrams is currently producing a mere two TV series: Undercovers for NBC and Fringe for Fox. But a new report from E! says that he may move that back up to three again, with ABC interested in creating a "reboot" of Abrams spy show Alias.

Director cites production delays and other issues for ‘the hardest decision’ of his life
Movie legend Dennis Hopper passed away on May 29 from cancer. Most people will probably remember him as the mad bomber in Speed or the creepy villain of Blue Velvet. He was in Apocalypse Now and directed as well as starred in Easy Rider, the ultimate ’70s free-spirit biker movie.
His 46-year career has something for everyone. At SCI FI Wire, here we remember Hopper’s trips to the future, battles with monsters and just plain weird stuff from other dimensions.
Actor/director Dennis Hopper was truly an unique individual.
It seems like getting the Hobbit movies done continues to be far more difficult than it should be, given how many people want to see them (and how big the resulting box-office money would be). After numerous delays (summed up nicely in Wikipedia), it seemed like the movies were finally on track until TheOneRing.Net dropped this bombshell:
Guillermo Del Toro announced today that he is no longer directing the two movies based on J.R.R Tolkien’s “The Hobbit”, but will continue to co-write the screenplays. Out of respect to the legions of loyal Tolkien fans, both Guillermo and Peter Jackson wanted to break the news to The One Ring first. They are both committed to protecting The Hobbit and will do everything in their power to ensure the films are everything that the fans want them to be.
Legendary Pictures, the production company behind The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Clash of the Titans and others, has its sights set next on alien invaders.
The company has bought a story called Pacific Rim from screenwriter Travis Beacham, who wrote the original script—later rewritten—for this year’s Clash of the Titans update. According to Deadline, the plot follows a future attack on Earth by “malevolent creatures” that forces the nations of the world to unite and use advanced technology to stop them. Beacham turned in a detailed 25-page treatment, which Legendary jumped on for a high six-figure sum.
It looks like one J.J. Abrams spy series—NBC’s Undercovers—might not be enough for him on TV this fall. Apparently, ABC is in talks with Abrams about rebooting his earlier TV spy venture, Alias, according to eonline.com’s Kristin Dos Santos.
The new series would have some elements of the original that propelled Jennifer Garner to stardom. However, they’d skip the intricate mythology involving the Rambaldi prophecy.
