<i>Star Trek</i>'s Chris Pine on how he took over the role of James Kirk

Chris Pine, who takes on the iconic role of James T. Kirk in J.J. Abrams' upcoming Star Trek, told SCI FI Wire that the main challenge in rebooting the franchise was to create a first adventure that appealed to longtime fans and also brought new fans into the fold.

Pine steps into William Shatner's boots in the May 8 release, playing a young version of Kirk. In the film, Kirk begins to emerge as the man who'll become a legendary Starfleet captain and barrels into action with the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise, which includes Spock (Zachary Quinto), Dr. McCoy (Karl Urban) and Uhura (Zoe Saldana).

Terminator Salvation star Christian Bale told Total Film that his trust was violated by the person who leaked his by-now well-known on-set rant: "There is an essential trust, and it's not a tacit one, it's a verbal one, a spoken one, which is [that] every sound guy says, 'We are not only not recording, we're not even listening.' So, well, there goes that."

Director Robert Zemeckis confirmed to MTV.com that he's been "buzzing" about a sequel to Who Framed Roger Rabbit: "I'll tell you what is buzzing around in my head now that we have the ability—the digital tools, performance capture—I'm starting to think about Roger Rabbit," he said.

Jeffrey Katzenberg and Leonard Nimoy will get special kudos at this year's Saturn Awards, according to The Hollywood Reporter; Katzenberg will receive the Visionary Award for his role in spearheading 3-D and his long career in animation, while Nimoy will get the Lifetime Achievement Award in ceremonies on June 24 in Burbank, Calif.

Dueling versions of Paradise Lost may face off in theaters?

Veteran producer Martin Poll has joined with Granite Entertainment and STV Networks to mount an indie film version of John Milton's 17th-century epic poem Paradise Lost, which has been gestating for nearly four decades and could enter production as early as the summer, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
