‘Knight Rider’ Crashes, ‘Heroes’ Renewed For Fourth
NBC made some quick decisions on what’s coming and going for the 2009-10 campaign, and congratulations to Hiro Nakamura and Matt Parkman, but sorry Michael Knight. “Knight Rider,” as expected, got the axe following a single shortened season where changes from the higher-rated pilot didn’t resonate with fans.
It took over the Wednesday 8 p.m. timeslot where another nostalgic remake, “Bionic Woman,” was tried and failed. “Knight Rider” debuted with a 4.5 rating/7 share overnight at the end of September, but actually grew its audience over its first four episodes rising as high as a 4.9/8 by mid-October. However, two episodes later, “Knight Rider” would crash into the wall head on, falling to a 3.3/5 by November sweeps — an audience loss of nearly 33 percent — and never recovering. …
